Connect to the sample inlet of particle counters in place of sample tubing. Provides some back pressure that helps keep the counter clean. Also verifies proper counter function.
With the filter in place, in the absence of particles, the counter should display zero counts. The time required for the counter to display zero counts varies with the clean room class where the counter is used. Replacing the isokinetic probe with a purge filter enables verification of the cleanliness of the sample tubing.
When moving particle counters from one area to another, it is recommended that the purge filter be applied to the counter and zero counts be verified. This assures that there will be no cross contamination from one area to another.
